I’m currently sitting at the desk of my new dorm room in Yale-NUS after two whirlwind weeks of orientation — and I’m in dire need of some semblance of quiet and order because these two weeks were pretty intense: it’s a cup brimming over with non-stop socializing (which admittedly can be fun, but I’m incredibly drained right now) and lots and lots of surprises. I guess it’s all been pretty overwhelming, but in a good way. I still have to settle mundane things like getting all of my books in and doing my philosophy and literature/humanities readings before classes begin for real next week.
I’ve never actually written it here, but I’ve decided on Yale-NUS College for university and will be studying liberal arts/sciences for four years. It feels strangely odd and very very exciting but still very scary but I hope these four years would push me to be better, do better, and figure out what I really want to do for and be in this grand world and in the greater scheme of things.
I look ridiculous here but Mavis was the first friend that came to visit me so yaaaaay. I really hope I won’t be trapped in the dreaded YNC bubble — where everything I am and will be revolves around this space.
